Marilyn founded Motion Designs in 1979, less
than one year after her life-altering hang gliding
accident, to manufacture and market her revolutionary
Quickie wheelchair. In 1986 the company was sold
to Sunrise Medical, where Marilyn served for
21 years as in various roles including most recently
as Vice President of Global Strategic Planning,
developing a new generation of power wheelchairs.
Marilyn’s entrepreneurship, innovations
and leadership did not go unnoticed, as she received
numerous industry, state and national awards
and recognitions, including being named California
Business Woman of the Year in 1984.
