Marilyn has been honored countless times for her many contributions to business, innovation and the disabled community, and her story has been documented in books, magazines and national news programs including 60 Minutes. In addition to being named California Business Woman of the Year, she is also a member of the California Governor’s Hall of Fame for People with Disabilities. Her story and tennis chair was included as part of the Smithsonian Museum collection in Washington, D.C. and currently is touring around the nation.

Over the years Marilyn has been met, been honored by and spoken with 3 presidents. In 2006, Marilyn received one of the highest tributes of her life and career, when California First Lady Maria Shriver honored her with the prestigious Minerva Award. Personally created and presented by Maria Shriver, the Minerva Award is given annually to California’s most remarkable women – those who have made extraordinary contributions to the state’s families and communities. Past recipients of the Minerva Award include Betty Ford, Dr. Sally Ride and other influential women.

The First Lady recognized Marilyn’s many achievements, which are now on permanent display at the California Museum for History, Women
and the Arts in Sacramento California.
